Cards: the words you tapped come back

Looking a word up once rarely makes it stick. ContextCat saves every word you tap, with the sentence you met it in, and brings it back as a card just before you would forget it.

A ContextCat review card for the Spanish word vaivén, with its sentence and buttons for Forgot and Remembered.

How review works

A card shows the word and the sentence it came from. Answer Remembered or Forgot. A remembered word comes back after a day, then six days, then at longer and longer gaps. A forgotten word comes back tomorrow.

If you already know a word, mark it Known. If you never want to see it again, say so and it goes away for a year.

Your progress

The Progress tab counts the words you are learning and the words you know, and lists every word you have tapped with the sentence it was in.

Questions

Do I have to make cards?

No. Every word you tap becomes a card on its own. You only decide whether you remembered it.
